Roots in Culture is a grassroots company based in the South West UK, with a passion for producing unique, transformational experiences; to ignite inspiration, creativity and a sense of wellbeing in the community.

Through the medium of family friendly events, interactive ‘playshops’, and music with a message, we explore themes such as: discovering wellbeing through creativity & the arts, environmental awareness, healthy living, social justice, and self empowerment.

Celebrating the concept of an ‘ancient future culture’, we aim to draw upon traditional and local elements of the arts & culture, and synergise these within a modern framework.

Our events have included arts & crafts activities, wildlife education, cultural dance & live music, alcohol-free ‘conscious clubbing’, community choir & gospel singing, african drumming & percussion, storytelling & poetry, circus skills & theatre, and live interactive digital projections.

The creative arts can be used as a tool for developing multiple life skills and supporting a state of wellbeing. The ability to express and create lives within us all, and the the simple sharing of this carries innate transformational potential for an individual, and as a group.

Our intent is to facilitate spaces that allow creativity to grow and flourish.

Roots in Culture is structured as a ‘not for profit’ social enterprise, with a very small team of volunteers at the helm. We are moving towards sustainability, with an aim to further develop creative collaborations in music for wellbeing, and arts based ‘inspiration education’ play-shops, for kids & adults. If you have a skill or song to share and would like to get involved, please get in touch.
